Lights, Camera… Action! Making and using films for social change: what works?

Chaired by Ruth HesseyAlex Kelly, an Alice Springs filmmaker, activist and producer with Big hART, presents thoughts from her recent Churchill Fellowship study of Social Issue Documentary Outreach and Impact Campaigns in the UK and the US. She shows excerpts of some remarkable films and discusses their success (or failure) in supporting and generating campaigns for social impact. She has gathered evidence from filmmakers, outreach and impact producers, funders, NGOs and social change campaigners.
