GOOD PITCH² AUSTRALIA seminar 2015 – Wednesday 11th February 2015

Documentary Australia Foundation and Shark Island Institute will present a briefing on an exciting new pitch forum GOOD PITCH².

GOOD PITCH² AUSTRALIA connects the world’s best social impact films with new allies and partners.

GOOD PITCH² AUSTRALIA brings together documentary filmmakers with foundations, not-for-profits, campaigners, philanthropists, policy-makers, brands, educators, broadcasters and media to forge powerful alliances around ground breaking films that are good for all these partners, good for the films and good for society.

Seven feature-length documentary projects will be chosen to present at the Sydney Opera House on September 16th 2015.

We are looking for:

• Outstanding films that tackle a significant social issue or have something important to show us about the world and ourselves.

• Films of any style – personal, observational, essays, presenter-led, verité

• Films across a range of genres (eg. social justice and human rights, environmental, arts and history)

• Films at any stage from early production to completion and even early festival circuit; although rough-cut stage is ideal.

• Films of 60+ minutes in length

Projects are distinguished by their commitment to building a community engagement and outreach strategy.

Once the final seven projects are determined, the GOOD PITCH2 AUSTRALIA team will work intensively with the selected filmmakers to further develop the funding and impact strategy for each project and filmmakers will attend development, pitching and campaign workshops with local and international partners.

Filmmakers will need to submit a trailer or key sequence from their film plus a 2-minute video telling the GOOD PITCH2 AUSTRALIA team why they want to make their film and what want it to achieve.

Applications are now open and will close on March 4th, 2015.

GOOD PITCH2 AUSTRALIA is brought to you by the Shark Island Institute and Documentary Australia Foundation.

Mitzi Goldman (CEO of DAF) and Malinda Wink (Executive Director of Good Pitch2 Australia), will present the session, show some clips and answer questions from the audience.
