Antenna – Sydney International Documentary Film Festival 2011

Celebrating its inaugural year, Antenna Documentary Festival 2011 is now open for submissions

Antenna is Australia’s first international documentary film festival to be held at the Chauvel Cinema in Sydney between 6-9 October 2011.

The advent of digital film-making technology has democratised the ability to produce quality documentaries and films are being produced in unprecedented numbers worldwide. Audience numbers for documentary films have also risen dramatically in the past decade and documentary film festivals now take place in almost every major city around the world. Accordingly, we feel it is timely for Sydney – as an ‘international’ world-renown city – to host its own globally recognised documentary film festival.

Our goal is to showcase the creative talents of local and international film makers by providing a space for established and emerging artists of film, along with the film-going public, to come together to discuss and experience the most interesting cinematic documentaries on offer.

Starting in 2011, Antenna wishes to introduce a wide range of documentaries created by film-makers with different artistic background from Australia and around the world. The result will be a rich programme featuring local and international documentaries primarily of long-form format including Australian and international competitions.

Antenna is glad to invite all documentary film-makers (established and emerging) to participate in the festival and submit their films. We are currently seeking feature-length documentaries (over 45-minutes) that were produced after January 1st, 2009.

Early bird submission with no entry fees closes on 31 October, 2010. To submit your film, go to www.antennafestival.org, download and print out the submission form, fill it out carefully and send it with a DVD copy of your film to:
